Too many freezing snow days made us miss summer and one of our favorite projects by the sea. We loved photographing all the turquoise and aqua blues, Moroccan tuffets and pillows, and meticulously handcrafted oyster shell lamps.

Dreary winter is sure jazzed up by these sunny yellow accents in this grand scale Gallery and Living Room. A little yellow goes a long way and this room pops with sunshine.

Visit one of our favorite retail projects in the Libbie and Grove area of Richmond, VA.

“Owner Nancy Gottwald opened the chic women’s boutique among the shops at Libbie and Grove on Aug. 23 and carries everything from casual basics to high-end cocktail attire, as well as stylish jewelry and accessories.”

“The interior of the shop is beautiful in itself, decorated by Janie Molster and Kate Stikeleather with turquoise beaded chandeliers, plush-fur ottomans, white-leather grommetted chairs and bright graphic wallpaper.”

OCTOBER :: Breast Cancer Awareness Month, so the color of the month is PINK!

I recently painted my dining room FARROW & BALL, Setting Plaster: A definite pink in historical terms, this colour will reward those looking for a solid paint color to reflect the colour of plaster.

Who would have guessed – a pink dining room?! Not me. But my husband and I could not be happier. It is unexpected, gorgeous, and goes perfectly with the feel of our 1860 farmhouse.

Feast your eyes on these inspiring PINK DINING ROOMS…

I brought several of these gauzy bed drapes back from a visit to Mustique Island. In a favorite guest room at our beach cottage, the panels are usually loose, creating a wonderful cocoon for a summer nap.

In my son’s bedroom at our beach house I used these maps to paper the walls above the painted beaded board. We chose maps that represent some of our favorite spots, Nantucket Harbor, the Neuse River and Pamlico Sound where my children attend summer camp, and the waters around the northern Outer Banks of North Carolina where we fish and play all summer.

Looking at your own design work in photography can be daunting. How does the camera see so much that a human eye can miss? We learned so much thanks to the talents of

photographers Kip Dawkins, Guy Crittenden, and Ellie Bolton. They realized our vision and captured our rooms perfectly, in driving rain or sunshine.

Special thanks to the talented team at Micheal Sparks Design for creating our site, especially Mike Garaffa and Micheal Sparks who, with good humor, became intimately familiar with the Pantone paint deck and a designer’s obsession with order and detail.

Lastly, our heartfelt appreciation goes out to our clients who graciously opened their doors to us for photography. It is such a privilege for us to be able to share your beautiful homes and businesses with the viewers of our website.
